Michelle Hargreaves will leave her post as Stagecoach East Midlands Managing Director to join the Business Change team

Michelle Hargreaves and Darren Roe to join Business Change team, while Steve Burd announces he is leaving the company after a decade of service

Stagecoach has announced new director appointments to help deliver a ‘Business Change programme’ within its UK Bus Division.

The new programme will be led by a newly appointed Business Change Director.

Stagecoach is currently finalising this appointment and said it expects to confirm details shortly.

Current Stagecoach London Engineering Director, Darren Roe, and current Stagecoach East Midlands Managing Director, Michelle Hargreaves, will also be taking up lead roles within the Business Change team.

Darren will be the programme lead for safety and engineering, while Michelle will lead on people, wellbeing, and employee engagement.

As a result, Stagecoach has made changes to the following regional operating company director posts:

  • Current Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire Managing Director, Matthew Cranwell, will become Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, effective from July;
  • Current Stagecoach North Scotland Managing Director, Mark Whitelocks, will take on the role of Managing Director, Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire from mid-June; and

Chris Remnant, currently Engineering Director of Stagecoach South, has been appointed as Engineering Director of Stagecoach London.

In addition, Stagecoach has confirmed that Steve Burd, current Managing Director of Stagecoach Midlands, is to move on from the business in September after 10 years.

Stagecoach said it will announce in due course the newly appointed Managing Directors for its businesses in the Midlands, North Scotland, South East and Oxfordshire.
