Stagecoach East Midlands has hosted the Great British Bus Bake Off competition, where some of the region’s best bakers competed for the best baked bus.

The competition was held during ‘Catch the Bus Week,’ which commenced on July 4. Cakes of all sizes were entered, including a Rocky the Seasider cake and retro cakes.

The winner was Penny Hardman, who baked a cake in the shape of Lincolnshire’s ‘Dial a Ride’ bus. She won a year’s free bus travel and an afternoon tea for two at the exclusive Electric Bar and Restaurant at the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton.

Stagecoach’s Wheel of Fortune was also present at the judging, with prizes including free travel vouchers, travel mugs, pens and pencils. The wheel raised £47.60 for The Children’s Health Fund UK.

Michelle Hargreaves, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “We were thrilled to see so many people get their mixing bowls out and participate in our baking competition. All the entries were great and it was fun to see all the different and wonderful creations people had put their hard work into.”
