Stagecoach has launched 11 new high-spec double-deckers on its Pronto service.
The new ADL Enviro400 MMCs are Euro 6 standard emissions buses, which replaced the previous single-deckers on June 20.
The launch comes as part of the £3m investment to double the capacity of the service.
The Pronto service which runs between Chesterfield, Mansfield and Nottingham will see new buses equipped with WiFi and USB ports.
Stagecoach celebrated the launch of the new buses with a ‘fun day’ of pizza, music and competitions at Nottingham Old Market Square on June 19.
Catherine Arnold, Sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Riley, Principal Development Officer at Nottingham County Council, attended the event.
Catherine said: “I was delighted to launch the new Pronto flagship bus, and to see Stagecoach at the forefront of new technology.”
Michelle Hargreaves, Managing Director at Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “Everybody had a brilliant time at the event, everybody loved the singers and the pizza. Now we can’t wait for the new buses to be out on the road.”
