Stagecoach Manchester held a surprise celebration for its unsuspecting four millionth customer to use the popular X50 service.
When Crumpsall resident Bako Noori alighted the bus at the intu Trafford Centre he was greeted by a fanfare, confetti canons, baton-twirlers, balloons and banners as well as a £200 voucher to be used at the centre.
Managing Director of Stagecoach Manchester Christopher Bowles and intu Trafford Centre General Manager Richard Paxton made the presentation to Mr Noori.
The X50 route was first launched in 2009 and is one of the company’s most popular services of the city’s operation. The service now carries more than twice the number of passengers annually than it did in its first year.
Christopher Bowles commented: “Today’s event was the perfect way for Stagecoach Manchester to celebrate such a huge milestone in the life of the X50 service and reward one lucky passenger for their custom. From a personal point of view, I’m proud to say this hugely important service.”
The event also marked the launch of Stagecoach Manchester’s #MyGreaterManchester social media campaign.
Christopher added: “I’m looking forward to the #MyGreaterManchester hashtag becoming a social hub of regional activity and being used to share events, like this milestone today, across social media.”
