Sunfun Group has launched its new CambridgeCoaches.com operation with the delivery of two 12.8m Plaxton LeopardsThe choice of Plaxton’s latest model, based on the Volvo B9R platform, is part of Managing Director Dave Collier’s strategy for the new operation.
“People recognise Sunfun as a holiday brand, although we undertake all types of work,” he explained.
“We wanted to focus our private hire operation under a brand representing our locality and employing the latest design of vehicle. We require high capacity with comfort and reliability for the operation so the Volvo Plaxton Leopard fits our requirements perfectly. The initial reaction to them has been very good and we have just ordered another three to expand the operation later this year.”
Sunfun Group is a family business founded by Dave Collier in 1987 with one vehicle focussed on holiday tours. Growth in this area driven strongly by US airbases in the locality was followed by diversification into private hire and sleeper coaches together with the acquisition of the Kiddles Coaches business which brought in a significant portfolio of school contract work. The Kiddles brand has been retained by Sunfun Group, ,alongside Sunfun International and the new CambridgeCoaches.com.
The Leopards are the first new Plaxton coaches to be acquired and join a fleet of around 50 vehicles.
