As reported by The Dundee Evening Telegraph, Stagecoach has taken over more bus services in Dundee after Teejay Travel went in to liquidation on Friday 3 August.

Arbroath based, Teejay Travel, had been operating routes across Angus, including some linking rural areas with Dundee. However, the services have since been temporarily taken over by Stagecoach.

Teejay Travel had an O-licence for four vehicles and had operated routes in Angus and the 78A and 79A services that link Dundee with Monikie, Monifieth, Ethiebeaton and Kellas.

Stagecoach East Scotland has arranged with Angus Council to operateTeejay Travel’s routes until a permanent operator can be found.

A spokesperson for the council said: “We can confirm that we have arranged for Stagecoach to operate the local bus contracts in the short term.”

Douglas Robertson, commercial director at Stagecoach East Scotland, said: “As a result of the recent administration of local bus operator Teejay Travel, we were asked by Angus Council to step in to cover the contracts previously operated by Teejay.”
