When presenting the Confederation of Passenger Transport’s (CPT) English bus strategy at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers last week, the trade organisation’s recently appointed Chief Executive, Graham Vidler explained that a principal motivation for taking on his new role had been a sense that the industry was underplaying its hand. “Bus was hugely important but perhaps we as a society were not making the most of its huge potential,” he said.
