The Confederation of Passenger Transport launched its English bus strategy, ‘Moving Forward Together, the future’s better with bus’ last week in the presence of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Transport, Baroness Vere of Norbiton whose responsibilities include buses. When presenting the Confederation of Passenger Transport’s (CPT) English bus strategy at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers last week, the trade organisation’s recently appointed Chief Executive, Graham Vidler explained that a principal motivation for taking on his new role had been a sense that the industry was underplaying its hand. “Bus was hugely important but perhaps we as a society were not making the most of its huge potential,” he said.
