Seven years ago, when Maks Pruszewicz was servicing vending machines, he probably didn’t imagine – as he filled up the drinks section and packed in the sweet packets – that a few years later he would be being interviewed on Chris Evans’ Radio 2 Show dubbed as the ‘Smiling Bus Driver.’
The chance to appear on national radio came after Maks won the accolade of the UK’s best bus driver of the year at the UK Bus Awards. And talking to him, it’s easy to see why he won the title: “If I can smile at people and welcome them aboard the bus, give them a smooth and safe journey to their destination, and if they thank me and smile at me when they get off because they’ve had a pleasant journey, I’ve done my job.” […]
