Lancashire-based operator The Travellers Choice has ordered three new 57-seater Irizar i6 Integral coaches for delivery in the first quarter of next year – the first time it has opted for the Spanish vehicles.

Three new i6 Integrals are set to join a fleet of over 80 vehicles

Established by the Shaw family in 1872, the operator runs a fleet of over 80 modern coaches on a wide variety of home and continental tours, excursions, hires and corporate work from depots in Carnforth and Dalton in Furness.

All three new coaches will be powered by a 408hp DAF MX-11 engine, its power transmitted to the wheels through ZF EcoLife automatic transmission.

Other features of the 12.9m coaches will include Bosch EQ Smart Series audio and Actia video entertainment systems, a centre toilet, and three-point seat-belts.

Stuart Smithson, Irizar (UK) Area Sales Manager, said: “We are delighted that The Travellers Choice has joined the growing portfolio of up-market UK coach operators who appreciate the advantages of the Irizar Integral product, which include advanced DAF engines and a choice of automatic or AMT transmissions in one of the most stylish and comfortable coach ranges available anywhere.”
