Nick Larkin highlights another important anniversary for Thornes Independent

Long-established Selby, North Yorkshire operator Thornes Independent Ltd marks another milestone year in 2019 as it celebrates 70 years since its inception in the East Riding village of Bubwith in 1949. The company relocated to Hemingbrough, six miles away in 2002 after 53 years on the same site and since then it has marked each major anniversary with a Running Day. This is usually in conjunction with the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington near York and for 2019 the event will take place on Sunday 6 October.
