BASE Ltd, the Leyland, Lancashire-based importer for bodybuilder Carrozzeria Barbi from Italy, has received an order for the first MAN RR2 420bhp Euro 6C vehicle from Timberbush Tours Ltd of Edinburgh.
The order, a repeat of the operator’s order for the 2016 season, is for two Galileo HD 10.8m with 47 seats.
Ronnie Stark, Transport Manager at Timberbush Tours, said:  “We are proud to be associated with the MAN Barbi Galileo.
“We have two existing RR2 360bhp coaches in constant use within our fleet, which are mostly running on our Loch Ness Tours, and we must say they have certainly given us good value for the excellent price we paid for them.
“The Barbi build quality, matched with the performance of the original 360bhp MAN chassis, was certainly a great draw to us when looking for a coach that would look at the elements and conditions they have been put through here in Scotland.
“The Barbi’s – as well as the MOBIpeople Midi Explorers also supplied by BASE – are a robust and reliable solution for us.
“We are looking forward to performance of the 420bhp vehicle and further improving our environmentally friendly fleet with the Euro 6C specification.”
BASE‘s General Manager, Nick Dodgson, added: “We are delighted that Ronnie and Gary Voy – MD at Timberbush – have had the confidence to order two more Barbi’s from us so soon after taking the first two Galileo‘s at the start of the 2016 season.
“To us a repeat order is a tremendous result – it means we‘re doing the job right – from specifying the vehicle to meet the customer’s requirements – to looking after them in the aftermarket.”
