Translink did not operate any scheduled bus or train services on Friday, March 13, due to a public sector strike organised by the Unite and GMB trade unions.

Some of the cross-border services were also affected. No Ulsterbus/Goldline services operated from Europoa Bus Centre, and the 2300hrs March 12 service to Dublin did not operate. Other services operated by Bus Eireann and Rooney were diverted.

Detailed compensation arrangements were put in place for all passengers who had pre-purchased tickets valid for the day and were unable to travel.
Speaking ahead of the strike on March 10, Ciaran Rogan of Translink said: “I would like to apologise to all our passengers who will be inconvenienced by this strike action which is unfortunately beyond our control. I think it is important to give people as much notice as possible in order that they may make alternative arrangements for travel on that day.”
