A bus nearing the end of its service career and a newcomer to preservation were among the stars at Transport Museum Wythall’s Twilight Running Day event marking the end of the season, with vehicles running into the early evening.

Alexander ALX400-bodied Dennis Trident T659 KPU, new to Stagecoach East London, was the debutante, while National Express West Midlands brought along 2001 Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL 4284 BU51 RXM, which is one of only nine of its type still operating with the company; these vehicles are due for imminent withdrawal Jacob Pietfield-Straw’s Midland Fox-liveried Wright Commander FD52 GGV also made a surprise appearance at the event.

Fleetline contrasts, with vehicles new to Walsall Corporation and West Midlands PTE.
