Runcorn-based operator orders team-spec coach and ‘super spacious exec’ from BASE Coach Sales after successful operation of inaugural Barbi Galileo HDL-bodied MAN
Just weeks after taking delivery of its first Barbi Galileo HDL-bodied MAN 49-seater wheelchair executive coach, Anthony’s Travel of Runcorn has been so impressed by driver and client feedback, that it has ordered two more from BASE Coach Sales.
The first is an MAN 360BHP Galileo HD 10.3m 37-seater super spacious executive, with centre sunken toilet which will be on display at this year’s Euro Bus Expo – which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham between November 1 and 3. The second is a new team coach based on the MAN Galileo HDL 12.4m body, with 32 leather seats and a full AD Coach Systems VIP specification. The latter includes a rear kitchen, eight tables, a multi-media system and monitors for passenger information and entertainment.
Managing Partner, Richard Bamber of award-winning Anthony’s Travel, said: “I have been really impressed with our first Barbi Galileo coach. The attention to detail from the first moment you place your order is second to none – plus we are always assured of the very best aftersales support from BASE Coach Sales and its chassis provider MAN Truck and Bus. At Anthony’s Travel, we strive to provide our clients with something unique, providing the best passenger experience. Barbi ticks all the boxes and most importantly, feedback from our customers and staff has been amazing.
“As an operator, I particularly like the fact that the coaches are tailor made to our requirements – they’re not mass produced. Isabella Barbi and the Barbi family put their heart into the product. That Italian passion and craftsmanship shines through. The Barbi is a top of the range, competitively priced coach for operators who are looking to provide their clients with something different – not more of the same.”
Richard added: “My thanks must also go Nick Dodgson and all the team at BASE. Being a family-owned business with a long history of operating and selling coaches, they really understand the industry like no other. They are not just selling a vehicle. They talk from experience and they understand my business ethos, my team and our objectives. It’s a great business partnership and one I am very proud of.”
BASE’s General Manager, Nick Dodgson, is delighted with more confirmed orders: “We recognise that it’s a team effort from the great working relationship between MAN and the Barbi family back in Italy, alongside our dedicated after-sales team keeping the client happy. We never set out to be the biggest volume dealer, but want to be considered as one that cares for our clients’ needs and delivers a product with first class support.”
