The United Counties Preservation Group (UCPG) has launched a new supporter membership scheme to help raise funds for the continued preservation of the vehicles in its collection. Its new supporter membership costs £10 a month, and offers supporters the satisfaction of knowing they are helping preserve its historic vehicles for future generations, the group says. In addition they will also receive a bi-annual newsletter detailing all the group’s activities plus invitation to members’ only events within the former United Counties area.

“We are pleased to have been awarded charity status after a lot of hard work,” said chair of the UCPG John Hammond. “This now allows the UCPG to offer supporter membership as an affordable opportunity to be involved in the preservation of the buses in the UCPG collection.”

The UCPG was formed in 2013 to secure the future of a former United Counties Bedford YRT and has expanded since then with the acquisition of three other former United Counties buses. Further details can be found via the group’s new website at ucpg.org.uk.
