Transdev Blazefield’s Vamooz has entered a partnership with PeoplesBus to offer the on-demand service in Liverpool.
Transdev Blazefield plans to gradually increase the coverage of the service to include the whole of the UK. The app offers customers a choice of trips, with prices that reduce as each ticket is booked, as well as the opportunity to suggest their own trips.
amooz Manager, Rebecca Reeve-Burnett, said: “Since we successfully launched our partnership with Reading Buses in the summer, we’ve been speaking to other coach and bus operators across the country about doing the same elsewhere.
“PeoplesBus really impressed us with their ideas for how Vamooz could work on Merseyside, so I’m delighted to be announcing this new partnership. PeoplesBus now has exclusivity to use the Vamooz brand in the area so they’ll be the face of Vamooz for the people in Liverpool and the surrounding areas.”
PeoplesBus Managing Director, Andrew Cawley, added: “I’ve been following Vamooz with interest since the app launched and it’s been great to see it go from strength to strength in these early months. Being a part of this groundbreaking solution in our industry is an exciting development for our company and brings great benefits to our existing customers too.
“We all know the challenges of our industry and need to innovate to meet them head-on. Vamooz does just that and, as well as offering something new to our current customers, is a great way to engage more people.”
Transdev Blazefield added that it has reviewed passenger details from its Vamooz trips and believes that over 75% are new customers, rather than existing regular bus users.
