Volvo Bus has raised more than £90,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), helped by the £15,000 gained from its eighth annual golf day held at the Warwickshire Golf and Country Club.
Each year, the fundraising golf event attracts more than 100 golfers including Volvo employees, business partners and suppliers.
On the day the amount of money raised exceeded the £15,000 mark, bringing the total figure raised from Volvo Bus since the competition began to approximately £94,000.
Charlotte Kendall, Regional Fundraiser for TCT’s West Midlands and Oxfordshire region, said: “Every year around 220 young people in our area receive the devastating news that they have cancer and overnight their lives head in a completely different direction to those of their friends.
“TCT exists to ensure that no young person has to face cancer alone and we rely solely on donations to provide our vital services. This is why the support we’ve received from Volvo Bus over the past eight years has been so invaluable. We are so incredibly grateful they continue to support TCT and cannot thank them enough for their commitment to the cause.”
Nick Page, Managing Director of Volvo Bus UK & Ireland, said: “We are grateful to everyone who once again ‘pitched up’ to support our annual golf day and helped to raise money for this important cause. We had a fantastic day and have achieved a figure of more than £15,000 for TCT.
“It is great that our employees, customers and industry colleagues continue their generous support which every year enables us to help this amazing charity to change the lives of young people with cancer.”
