The President, still in its East Yorkshire livery, makes for an odd site in Peterborough, but has an ideal cab door pocket in which to keep your CBW! RICHARD SHARMAN

Coach & Bus Week is based in Peterborough, so when there are big changes to the local bus network and more services in the hands of independents, it was time to investigate; a route that serves Serpentine Green in Hampton and passes close to our office was one that was affected by the Stagecoach East service cuts. Running over, camera at the ready, Richard grabbed an exterior shot and went to talk to the friendly driver, who explained the vehicle was from Spalding-based Fowlers Travel, which was helping Dews out for a few days. The driver’s allocated vehicle was immaculate inside and as he opened the cab door to speak to Richard, he realised why Plaxton designed such a large storage space in the cab door of the President… its an ideal location to keep your favourite industry magazine to read on your layover!
