Mellor has delivered a Tucana II Woking Community Transport to facilitate transport to local community day centres around Woking in Surrey as part of the Bustler Dial-a-Ride service.
Built on the Volkswagen Transporter T6 Euro 6 chassis, the vehicle carries up to 15 passengers or four wheelchairs. It is powered by a four cylinder 1968cc Euro 6 engine, and has a gross vehicle weight of 4100kg.
Stephen Morris, General Manager for Woking Community Transport Ltd, said: “We needed an additional bus to supplement our fleet of 46 vehicles. The completely flat low floor design was an important part of our specification as many of the passengers we carry have reduced mobility. Some of our customers also have assistance dogs, so there were many factors to consider with our purchase, and the Tucana II met all our needs.”
National Sales Manager – South for Mellor, Stephen Haywood, added: “We are delighted that Woking Community Transport chose Mellor for their latest fleet investment.
“We have worked with them previously and it’s great to once again be supplying them the vehicle they were looking for at a competitive price.”
The Bustler Dial-a-Ride is a door to door transport service for residents of Woking Borough who have reduced mobility. All buses are specially adapted to cater for people with all disabilities, including those using wheelchairs.
