New Zealand Bus Travel NZ has taken delivery of three 11.5m Wrightbus StreetLite Micro Hybrids powered by Euro 6 Mercedes-Benz engines driving through Voith D824.6E automatic gearboxes. These are the first vehicles that Wrightbus has sold in New Zealand reports Australasian Bus & Coach.
Bus Travel NZ is part of the Leopard Coachlines group, which specialises in Auckland airport services and transfers in addition to New Zealand-wide coach touring. The three new StreetLites are based at Manukau depot at Auckland International Airport and operate a 24-hour, seven day a week service for airport customers and employees.
Wrightbus is represented in New Zealand and Australia by Patico Automotive, whose Managing Director, Tony Fairweather, is plesed that the company has chosen Wrightbus. “We have been demonstrating this vehicle on behalf of Wrightbus in New Zealand and Australia for almost 12 months and the reaction from operators and drivers has been very encouraging,” he told the magazine. “I am confident that we can build on this success, and look forward to supplying more of these excellent vehicles throughout New Zealand and Australia in coming years.”
