Bookings have opened for the Young Bus Managers Network Spring Conference, which is being held in Birmingham. “We’re pleased to be returning to the West Midlands for our next conference,” Network Patron Roger French explained, “and we’re putting together another top line up of speakers.”

Already confirmed are Go-Ahead’s UK Regional Bus UK Managing Director Martin Dean, and David Bradford, Managing Director of National Express West Midlands. “It’ll be timely to visit Birmingham again which is moving forward with a partnership approach with the Combined Authority, in contrast to Greater Manchester and Merseyside,” Roger added.

Other speakers include John Birtwistle, Head of Policy at First Bus, who will update delegates on the UK’s first autonomous bus in public service in Didcot, and Chris Cheek will be back giving an update on post-Covid trends as well as spearheading a discussion on ideas to regain passengers. There will also be a behind the scenes visit to a local operational location. The conference takes place on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 May. Bookings can be made via the event’s website at youngbusmanagers.org.uk, with a discount for those booking before the end of March.
