East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) has recently taken delivery of 14 new buses, moving closer to its target of having a fully low-floor bus fleet by the end of 2014.
Six are based on Volvo B9TL Euro 5 chassis with Wrightbus Gemini double-deck bodies, similar to many of EYMSâ previous deliveries, and a further four are Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 Euro 5 single-deck buses, similar to the five which were delivered last autumn.
The final four buses are on Volvo B7RLE chassis, also Euro 5, and carry MCV âEvolutionâ 44-seat single-deck bodies, a type of vehicle which is new to the EYMS fleet.
Three of the ADL buses are allocated to Scarborough and the six double-decks are destined for route 121 between Hull and Scarborough, now operated by depots at these two locations following the recent closure of the companyâs depot at Driffield.
However, before this, the doubledecks have all gone to Scotland, along with four other EYMS deckers, where they will work for a fortnight under contract to First for the Commonwealth Games.
The remaining single-decks are all being allocated to local routes in Hull.
