Family-owned Hessen operator remains loyal to German marque
GERMANY Becker-Reisen GmbH & Co. KG based in Bad Endbach, near Marburg is celebrating a notable milestone with the acquisition of its 100th Setra – a 48-seater S516HD touring coach.
Managing Director Martina Becker-Achenbach, who together with husband Mathias Achenbach represents the third generation to head up the family-run firm, spoke about the reasons for always choosing vehicles of the Ulm-based brand during the handover of the tri-axle coach at the Setra Customer Center in Neu-Ulm: “Setra coaches feature outstanding workmanship and reliability, and also tremendous quality and durability. Thanks to the high residual value, a fouryear- old Setra is also profitable to sell. They are quite simply something special. They really make you stand out on the road.”
Vehicles in the 54-strong fleet operate for a maximum of four years – and the firm said this landmark vehicle will be no different.
Becker was established in 1935 by Karl Becker who with his first coach drove workers to motorway construction sites, among other things, and also offered excursions throughout the Hesse region. In 1963 the company ordered its first Setra coach – an S14. Since then, Becker-Reisen has remained loyal to Setra.
