Arriva North East announced the launch of its latest Sapphire service upgrade on routes 5/5a and X3/X4 between Teesside and Redcar and Cleveland.

A display of buses were officially unveiled in Saltburn last week by royal lookalikes Kate Middleton and Prince William who, in familiar Arriva Sapphire fashion, made sure guests enjoyed a ‘right royal welcome’. Guests were treated to a special ballet performance from pupils at Val Armstrong School of Performing Arts to showcase the buses.

A total of 24 brand new Wrightbus Streetlites will be introduced to the services, providing an investment of over £4.5m. All vehicles are equipped with free WiFi, power points to charge phones and laptops, audio visual stop annuncements and E-leather covered seating.
