The IAA saw the premiere of the MAN TGE as a manufacturer- built minibus in the form of the TGE Intercity, and the result is very good – a luxurious well-built interior with the exterior looking like a premium minibus due to its modern styling.
As I mentioned in the editorial, a number of bodybuilders are currently working on building TGE options, but the factory solution for the UK is also in development.
The TGE Intercity gives the UK market a glimpse of how well put together and specified the factory solution will be.
The example shown featured 15 reclining seats with three-point belts and armrests, roof-mounted air conditioning system, USB ports at all seats, additional speakers, rear view reversing camera, LED headlights and a manual gearbox.
A new 8-speed Automatic gearbox for the TGE was also launched at the IAA. Various safety devices are also included as standard such as advanced Emergency Braking System (EBA), Crosswind Assistant and Active Lane Guard.
