Vehicle retrofit manufacturer GreenUrban Technologies has had its Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme (CVRAS) certification withdrawn as a result of discrepancies identified during testing.

Confirming the decision to revoke the company’s certification, the Energy Saving Trust said in a statement: “The Energy Saving Trust has withdrawn the Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme accreditation from GreenUrban Technologies after discrepancies between reported and actual test results were identified during a routine audit.

“In total, 16 retrofitted buses belonging to three separate companies have been identified so far as having been affected. Energy Saving Trust is working to identify any other vehicles and companies that may have been affected, and we will work closely with those affected to resolve the issue.

“We are supported in this decision by our joint owners of the scheme, the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP).”

Based in Penrith, Cumbria, the company’s list of clients includes National Express, Arriva, FirstGroup, Stagecoach and Nottingham City Transport. It was first established in 2003, and produces the ecoNOxt SCRT retrofit system and ecotrap+ diesel particulate filter – in addition to bespoke systems for specialist vehicles.
