Plaxton has announced that it is to host its own coach rally on 8 August 2019.
The coachbuilder, part of Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL), will hold the event at its Scarborough factory, which will be ticket-only celebrating the company’s heritage showcasing both Plaxton’s historic and current product line up.
35 of 60 coaches have already entered, and will be judged on four key criteria: vehicle exterior, vehicle interior, engine/chassis and overall presentation.
On the day doors will open at 1000hrs and judging will take place from 1100hrs to 1500hrs.
The judging will be followed by a cavalcade along Marine Drive, and prizes will be awarded at an invite-only dinner event at the Scarborough Spa.
As a supplement to the rally entrants, there will also be a showcase of Plaxton coaches and Alexander Dennis buses at the factory, plus plant tours.
Money will also be raised for two local charities, the RNLI to support Scarborough’s local lifeboats as well as Saint Catherine’s hospice.
