Elijah Saleem, a transit bus driver in Miami-Dade, Florida, recently rescued a drowning baby, after the car he was in sunk into a canal. The driver who was driving his bus along Northwest 155th near 27th Avenue, saw the car plunge into the canal and immediately sprang into action, diving into the water after the child’s father asked him to save his son.

Speaking to Local 10 the man said: “The gentleman asked me could I help him save his son and so I jumped into the water. He got his son through the window and he said, ‘take my son.’ He just tossed me his son.”
Metrobus Division Superintendent Melvin Watson added: “For him to go above and beyond, that’s the type of person he is, day in and day out.”
