Gillingham-based The Kings Ferry is offering free coach travel to young people who are on work experience placements in London, saving them significant cost of a train ticket. They can board the firm’s 36 daily commuter services at any of 188 pick up points in Medway, Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey provided they have obtained a free pass.
During a visit to The Kings Ferry headquarters, Gillingham MP Rehman Christi signed all those on work experience placements in his Westminster office up to the scheme. He said: “This generous scheme is a great example of how a local business can support the community and invest in future generations.”
The Kings Ferry Commercial Director, Danny Elford added: “Young people are the future of our economy which is why it’s important they can gain practical experience in the workplace.
“Commuting expenses can really push up the cost of work experience, so we are happy to offer free travel to students travelling to their placements so they can get ahead in their future careers.”
