Stagecoach South has made a significant investment in its Basingstoke town network, enhancing services and introducing 32 new buses. Andy Izatt was at the 2 December launch

Stagecoach South has invested £5.3m in a fleet of 32 Euro VI Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) Enviro200s for Basingstoke, completely replacing the buses used on its six primary town services. That’s 70% of what is an almost entirely commercial network and the new intake is more than half of the 61 vehicles allocated to its depot in Rankine Road on the Daneshill Industrial Estate. The operator runs a 492-strong fleet serving Worthing, Chichester, Portsmouth, Guildford, Aldershot, Winchester and Andover as well as Basingstoke.
