Ash Grove bus depot will be opening its doors to the public this Saturday, April 22 from 1100hrs
Hackney Community Transport Group (HCT Group) Arriva, which share the site, and Transport for London (TfL) will be welcoming local residents for a look behind the scenes at the depot, off Mare Street in the heart of Hackney.
Family-friendly activities will also be a feature of the day, including the opportunity to ride on a bus through the bus wash.
Visitors will also be able to ride heritage buses to and from the depot, are there will be special services on route 236 from the garage to Finsbury Park.
There will also be a special bus on route 388 from Stratford City to Elephant and Castle, calling at the depot. A special service on the original 6a and 6b routes will run from Hackney to Aldwych.
The event is being held with the support of the London Transport Museum to promote closer links between the local community and the staff who run London’s bus service.
