Alford, Lincolnshire-based Hunt’s Coaches has recently been presented with the ‘Independent Retailer of the year’ award at the second annual East Lindsey Business Awards.

Organised and hosted by East Lindsey District Council – in partnership with Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce – the awards recognise those who are helping to sustain the local economy through ‘excellence and innovation’.

The celebrations – presented by BBC Radio Lincolnshire morning show host, Melvyn Prior – were held at Skegness’ Southview Park Hotel on Friday, April 27.

Following the announcement, Joe Hunt, Director of Hunt’s Coaches, commented: “The Hunts Coaches team are delighted to be awarded the Independent Retailer of the Year Award 2018.

“As an East Lindsey business, to be recognised for our achievements of putting customers first and providing diversity and variety to the high street is just wonderful.

“After nearly 90 years of providing transport services, employment opportunities and supporting the local community, our family business successes are because of the people, teamwork, integrity and willingness to innovate of everyone involved.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Simon Beardsley – Chief Executive at Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce – said: “This is the first year that Lincolnshire Chamber have been involved in the East Lindsey Business Awards and it was a great success.

“The businesses who received awards have all shown a great deal of dedication and excellence.

“These awards give us the opportunity to acknowledge the hard work that goes into making not only a successful business, but also the sustained and continued support and growth of the local area.

“Friday’s celebration recognised the success of all the applicants, finalists and winners which demonstrated the breadth of expertise and skills within the East Lindsey District.”
