Voted Cumbria Tourism’s Small Visitor Attraction of the Year 2007, The Rum Story is an experience set in the original 1785 shop, courtyards, cellars and bonded warehouses of the Jefferson family.
Visitors travel through a tropical rainforest, an African village, a realistic slave ship, a Cooper’s workshop and much more.
A coach drop-off point is located at the front door, with a nearby coach park and a meet and greet service for pre-booked coaches. There is free entry for the coach driver. Local market days are Thursday and Saturdays.
There are discounted group rates of £3.50 per person. The attraction offers a free guided tour with private welcome facilities. It is fully wheelchair accessible.
Catering facilities can be provided. Any special dietary requirements should be raised prior to arrival.
