Invertec’s LED lighting/ducting combined in modular roof section

Invertec is now supplying a complete interior ceiling system for VISEON’s Trolley Bus LT 20, 12 of which have been sold to the Riyadh University campus in Saudi Arabia.

The design was a co-operation between VISEON and Invertec engineers. The whole ceiling was modelled in 3D CAD. VISEON is one of the first European Bus builders to have taken the decision to only offer LED lighting, already supplied in their double deck vehicle since November last year. The ceiling consists of formed laminate panels and Aluminium extrusions, which form the central air ducts around the main lighting extrusion. Slots in the extrusions allow for even and noiseless air distribution around the passenger compartment, with a transfer duct to the outer extrusion in the door area, which provides a cold air curtain across the door.

The outer panels are hinged with concealed fixings, for access to equipment so the air ducts can be kept clear, allowing for a smooth air passage, reducing noise and giving a smooth finish with clean lines and an uninterrupted appearance. The LED lighting in the central lighting channel has been in service across Europe, Hong Kong and the USA in vehicles such as ADL’s E400 and E500 Double deck, E200 single deck vehicles and Wright bus Gemini Double deck and Invertec will have supplied LED main saloon lighting for 1000 buses by the end of July this year.

The LED lighting is dimmable and can be controlled via a PWM signal from the vehicle multiplex system. Invertec already supplies CL mini LED light to illuminate the inside of luggage lockers on the VISEON C series coaches.

The company is also the chosen supplier for an interior ceiling system combining air conditioning channels, LED lighting and air distribution extrusions for VISEON’s LDD interurban double deck coach.
