Heath Williams has been appointed as Managing Director of Ipswich Buses – taking over from the operator’s interim Managing Director, Rob Bellamy.

Rob has led the company since December 2016, overseeing a full review of its network and fare structures, investing further into its fleet, introducing contactless payments and launching a new website.

Prior to his appointment at Ipswich Buses, Heath held director-level positions in Stagecoach and Arriva for two decades – having been involved in the industry since the early ‘80s.

His previous roles involved leading commercial and contracted bus and coach operations in Wales, Lancashire, London and the Home Counties.

Chris Mole, Chair of Ipswich Buses Board, commented: “We are immensely grateful to Rob for all he has done over the last 18 months to improve our operation.

“But his tenure was always on an interim basis and I am delighted that we have secured someone with as much experience as Heath has as our new Managing Director.

“I know that under his leadership the company will continue to go from strength to strength.”
