Kinchbus is offering customers the chance to support their local town centre by offering free travel for all into Loughborough between 1000 and 1100hrs on Wednesdays.
The Freeride Wednesday offer runs throughout March, and anyone who boards any Kinchbus or skylink bus for their journey to Loughborough will not have to pay the usual fare.
Tom Morgan, the firm’s General Manager, explained: “Along with traders in Loughborough, the recent road works have been a struggle for us and our thousands of customers. We wanted to reward them for their support during these difficult times, whilst encouraging new users to support their town centre, assuring them that Loughborough truly is open for business.
“The offer applies across any Kinchbus or skylink bus if you board between 1000 and 1100hrs. All you need to do is let the driver know you are getting off in Loughborough and you travel for free.”
The initiative has been praised by the local Member of Parliament for Loughborough, Nicky Morgan MP, who said: “I am very pleased to support this excellent offer from Kinchbus which sends a clear signal that Loughborough town centre has lots of great things to offer, from our market to our town hall and many places to shop and eat to tempt shoppers and visitors.”
The initiative follows Freeride Sunday, a similar campaign by sister company trent barton in January 2014, which saw an increase of around 40% in customer journeys during the hour that fares were waived. This was during a month of increased retail trading at local towns and shops in Nottingham and Derby.
