King Long has said that owing to the success of its road shows, with an overspill of customers who wanted to go but were prevented from doing so due to their location, the company has taken the decision not to attend this year’s Euro Bus Expo show. Instead it is offering the chance to both view and drive the vehicle.

During the show, the company is inviting all potential customers to come along to see where the ‘real deals’ are done and enjoy the King Long hospitality at the Coventry HQ, which is a 20 minute ride from the NEC.

The company will be launching the new King Long XMQ 6129 Cummins powered, fully automatic Euro 6 ‘Low Deck.’

The new model is not new in terms of aesthetics – King Long says it is the new fully-automatic Euro 6 gearbox which makes the 12m 6129 interesting. The original 53-seat executive coach had the ZF AS-Tronic gearbox, and after listening to operators who preferred a straight automatic gearbox, King Long upgraded to the Euro 6. The company says this is why it wants potential customers to test-drive the vehicle and not just see it.

King Long will be providing a shuttle bus between the Hilton Metropole hotel and the Coventry HQ. The coach will be leaving every hour on the hour from 1000hrs – 1600hrs between November 4 – 6.
