Gemma Ireland, General Manager of Vehicles and Recruitment at CBW has put together some words to pay tribute to Paula Beaumont of Scania, who sadly passed away on 13 August aged 49.
“I want to pay tribute to someone who I have worked with since joining CBW in 2014 and that is my brave friend Paula Beaumont. I got to know Paula as she was dealing with the advertising for Scania’s used vehicles, but our meetings always turned to us both putting the world to rights; we had coffee, lunch dates, long phone calls weekly and I loved her keeping me up to date on what she was up to.
“When Paula found out her diagnosis she called me, and we cried together. That was when she told me all about her ‘bucket list’ and every week she would call me to tell me what she had achieved that week. Paula was a friend and one of the most inspirational people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have never seen so much courage and bravery from an individual in my life, and even when life dealt her with the unimaginable she still continued to smile, laugh, think of others and make me belly laugh until I cried. Paula, I love you, thank you for being a part of my life. I am so proud of everything you have overcome with such dignity and grace. Love, Gemma.”
