On July 27, Minis to Midis held its first Ride & Drive event, inviting operators and their families to visit its premises and take a closer look at the vehicle range. Two days ahead of the event, James Day visited the company for an update
Minis to Midis is a dealership going from strength to strength. In the space of a year, its permanent staff base has increased from four to 12, promoting a line-up of eight vehicles in broad terms. One of these the company expects to launch at this year’s Coach & Bus UK show at the Birmingham NEC in October, where the dealership is bringing at least eight vehicles to populate the biggest stand it has ever had.
The family-owned business is now run by Paul J Gardner, the second generation to run it, who now fulfills the role of General Manager. At the age of 38, he is quite young to be running a dealership in an industry often seen to be lacking in new blood, but after successful stints at EvoBus and MAN, it is fair to say he has experience beyond his years.
The company held something of an open week this July. I attended on July 25, one of two press days, and a Ride & Drive event was held on July 27. Minis to Midis invited operators down to view the vehicle range, and with the school holidays underway, encouraged them to bring their children along with them. Many budding industry enthusiasts were able to see vehicles up close, and bouncy castles and ice cream vans were present to keep them entertained.
