easyBus launched an express transfer service between London Luton Airport and Earls Court on Sunday April 22, with fares as low as £1 for a single journey.
The occasion was marked on Wednesday (April 25) with a cake cutting ceremony attended by Brian Callin, easyBus’ Chief Operating Officer and Rupert Lawrie, London Luton Airport Commercial Director.
Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyBus Chairman, said: “With overcrowding a major concern at London’s other airports, we want to play our part in ensuring London Luton helps take the strain.
“By using the tried and trusted ‘easy’ formula to expand value for money bus services, we will not only welcome visitors to the capital for the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee but also ensure they have enough cash left to enjoy the best London has to offer.”
Rupert Lawrie, Commercial Director, London Luton Airport, commented: “This new easyBus service is a welcome addition to the rich mix of public transport options already available, offering value and choice to our passengers and providing fast and easy access into Central London.”
The new route compliments the existing service between the airport and Victoria Coach Station. To accommodate this expansion, easyBus has invested in an additional 50 new customconverted 13-seat Renault Masters, with distinctive orange easyBus livery.
Serving the route between the airport and West Cromwell Road, Earls Court, the new services will offer over 1000 seats per day. The easyBus pick-up and drop-off point is close to Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre and underground station making it a convenient service for those visiting an exhibition or travelling to other parts of London.
The £1 introductory offer will apply to 20,000 seats for travel between April 22 and May 31, 2012.
