The wholesaler celebrated by inviting operators to the West End for a showing of The Commitments
To celebrate 30 years of commitment to group travel, wholesaler Independent Coach Travel (ICT) invited coach and group tour operators to a special 30th anniversary event in London last weekend.
After a friendly welcome at the four star deluxe Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel, the guests and sponsors, John Wales of Encore Tickets and Stuart Duddy of DFDS, gathered for a few drinks and to socialise before ICT company director, Stephen Moore, delivered a warm and very personal speech, saying: “I am delighted and touched that so many of our most valued clients could make it to the event.”
He also remarked that, even through the tough times of the past few years, ICT endeavoured to provide this competitive industry with suitable and meaningful products offering excellent excursions and value for money.
He said: “With age comes experience and, with 30 years of wholesaling behind us, ICT really has shown a long term commitment to group travel.”
After a short walk to a nearby restaurant for a three course dinner, the guests were treated to the best seats in the house for ‘The Commitments,’ one of London’s most talked about musicals, currently running at the Palace Theatre in the West End. This was a superb foot stomping performance, which left the audience shouting for more.
Monday morning allowed guests to visit London at their leisure and, with the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel centrally located on Leicester Square, they couldn’t have been better placed to enjoy some of the city’s highlights. In the afternoon, they were welcomed by Ian Lacey, Marketing & Travel Trade Manager at the Houses of Parliament, to experience the new audio-guided tour and to sample a delicious afternoon tea on the Terrace Pavilion, overlooking the River Thames. This was a very special end to a thoroughly enjoyable ICT 30th anniversary celebration weekend in London.
