RUSSIA Judges at Russia’s COMTRANS, the international show for commercial vehicles in Moscow, voted Neoplan’s Cityliner ‘Bus of the Year’ in the “The Best Commercial Vehicle of the Year inRussia” contest.

A panel of 12 journalists from Russia’s commercial-vehicle media made up the jury.

Dr. Frank Hiller, director of Marketing, Sales & Services at MAN Truck & Bus AG, said: “As an important growth market, Russia plays a major part in our BRIC strategy. This distinction not only confirms the successful activities of MAN Truck & Bus on the Russian market but shows once again that high-quality vehicles are those most favoured by experts and customers alike. The Bus of the Year award for the Cityliner is one further step along the way to opening up the fascination of Neoplan to our Russian customers too.”

The model on show was a 13.8m Cityliner with 41 seats and powered by a MAN D 2066 LOH 03 in-line six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine rated at 400hp.
