Arriva the Shires (ASC) has officially opened its new travel centre in the middle of The Mall in Luton.

Located in Central Square, the shop is open seven days a week. “We have seen in other towns that having somewhere people can go and speak to a real person about travelling by bus is really important,” explained Mr Adcock. “The location is great for all our current and potential new passengers to find out more about bus travel in the area. With the Busway now fully open, more and more people are interested in finding out about bus travel so this was the right time to open a centre.”

As well as providing information, the travel centre can also sell local bus tickets, Green Line tickets to London and National Express tickets for their services across the country. Arriva have also launched a new smartcard and cards can be topped up at the shop too.

With the closure of the travel information office in the Central Library at the end of November, Arriva is hoping to be able to offer other services in its shop, including rail tickets and coach trips and holidays.
